1. What is the difference between an MP and a Reflash?
A "Monster Pack" rewrites all the software that runs your phone. It deletes everything and writes in new code. It will delete your phonebook, pictures, videos, ringtones, seem edits, EVERYTHING. This is good because if you do a seem edit and you can't load your backup, just flash an MP and you're good to go again.

A "Reflash" Only flashes some of the code on your phone. It won't erase your stuff you've put on the phone, but it will reset your seem edits and settings on the phone. If there is a reflash for your phone/carrier AND an MP, you should always try the reflash first because then you won't have to reload all your ringers, pics, phonebook, etc. A reflash is *usually* all you need to recover from a botched seem edit.

2. When should I flash my phone with an MP or Reflash?

You should only flash it if your phone won't boot up, or there's an upgrade available for YOUR phone on YOUR carrier. Unless you really know what you're doing. Sometimes after doing a seem edit that didn't do anything, your phone may start acting funny. If it bugs you a lot, MP or reflash it. I had to do that once.

3. How do I flash an MP or Reflash to my phone?

4. Can I make my own MP?

No, you can't make them, but you can obtain new ones. You can't make them because all an MP really is is a backup of the phone software in .shx or .sbf format that can be flashed to a phone. We can grab the firmware in binary format, but nobody has figured out how to convert that binary data into a flashable file. That's also why we can't do fonts, DRMs, or language packs. Those all have to be flashed and we can't convert them to a flashable format....yet

You can obtain them 3 ways. The first and easiest way (L7c users listen up!) is to download Motorola Software Update hereafter referred to as MSU. This is legal to have and link to. What you do, is start it and connect your phone. It will check motorola for updates. If there is one, it will download it to your hard drive before it flashes it. Let it download, but as soon as it's done downloading, disconnect your phone and close the program. Now the firmware will be in the MSU folder on your hard drive. Upload it to a file-hosting site , and with a link to it.

Another way is if you work for or know someone who works for a cellular company. Ask them to get it for you. Upload it to a file-hosting site with a link to it.

The final way is if your phone is messed up, bring a USB memory key or blank CD with you when you go to the cell store to get it fixed. When they flash your phone, try to get them to give you the flash file. It has been done and with the right tech and the right words, you can get the file. Then upload it to a file-hosting site with a link to it.

U.S. Cellular
USC_V3c_04.08.00R Reflash for the RAZR V3c
This is just the .08 version of their firmware. Not much is known about it, other than it's for V3c US Cellular customers

USC_V3c_04.09.00R Reflash for the RAZR V3c
This is the newest update for V3c US Cellular customers. fixes the problem where you weren't able to get into your text messages menu or if you had locked messages that you couldnt unlock or delete. It's their most recent firmware (Thank you RnRExpress for the info on this flash!)
Sprint
HONL242_X_00.37.00R Reflash for the KRZR K1m
I believe this is the only firmware on the net for Sprint at this time. It originated here. Not much is known about it other than it will fix a sprint K1m and brick a verizon V3m. Theoretically it could load java on a K1m from other carriers, but no one has actually tried it.
